Get to Know Eyasu We Consider Him Family

Eyasu with some sweet children in Ethiopia

If you read our story, you know how Eyasu's nickname inspired our coffee business's name. It really was a kiss from God. Now we want to tell you a little more about the young man who inspired us on our venture!

Eyasu, who we have grown to love for so many reasons, has become like a son to us. His passion for Jesus, and the lost is amazing. He worked hard to raise the money he needed to put himself through school, and now works as an electrician, as well as serving in his small church in Ethiopia, and sharing Jesus on the streets. He truly is an inspiration, being the hands and feet of Jesus. In many ways he has caused our family to re-think so many things about our little comfortable world we live in, for that we are eternally grateful.

Eyasu has dreams that first and foremost include whatever it is God calls him to do, that means serving and ministering to people looking for hope and needing Christ!

We are thankful that God has blessed us in getting to know this fine young man, and pray that one day soon we will be able to reach out and hug him face to face!

Our First Partner

Yaya Coffee is officially teaming up with a ministry called ICDI http://www.icdinternational.org/ a non-profit organization providing water, orphan care, food, job support and so much more to local communities in Central Africa. Our goal is to raise and send money to this ministry and other ministries like these to help the less fortunate.

ICDI is a Christian organization that shares Christ's love to the people they are helping in Africa. Yaya Coffee is excited to be a part of what they are doing!

If you love coffee, and desire to find ways to help them and others in areas like these, remember every pound of Yaya Coffee you purchase will benefit these and ministries like these to do God's work around the world.

Thank you for your support...The Yaya Team

Conversation in Africa

Today my kids and I had a video conversation with Eyasu in Africa. We were so excited, and look forward to more conversations. He even wore his Yaya Coffee t-shirt for us. The picture is very dark, but enjoy what you can.

Our Little 2 Year Old Comes Up With Our Slogan!

One morning as I (Tonya) sat at my desk our 2 year old climbed up in my lap and said, "I want my Yaya Coffee." I told him to wait a minute. Then he asked again, "I want my Yaya Coffee." Again I asked him to wait. He asked again, but this time with tears, crying out (almost whining), "I...want...my...Yaya COOOOFFFFEEEEE." It was so cute I could NOT resist. He had a cup. Poor deprived child!

And so our slogan began...I want my Yaya Coffee!

Our Yaya Coffee Open House Was a Hit!

Thanks to all who made the time to pop in and try our coffee. We got a lot of great feedback, learning people's likes and dislikes. It was very good for us, and truly a wonderful time of fellowship!

We also want to thank those of you who ordered and purchased coffee (we sold a lot!) and those who purchased shirts. We are excited to get our little coffee business rollin'! If you need business cards let us know, please pass on our name to coffee lovers you know too! We still have some 1/2 lb. bags at $5 if anyone is interested.

Enjoy some snapshots I took during our open house. I missed a few people, sorry. I was trying to be a good hostess :). We appreciated all of you supporting us and stopping by to see what we've been up to!

Special thanks to Becky Spanko "Sweet Heaven Desserts" who supplied us with some yummy treats for our day!

OPEN HOUSE!

Ok fans...we had to reschedule our open house. Didn't consider drinking coffee in the evening would not be good for some people, so we are planning a date for mid-February. Keep watching! If you're interested let us know so that we can plan on you to be our guest!

Thanks...The Yaya Team

So Much to Share!

We want to start by sharing something that anyone trying our coffee might want to consider. When purchasing our coffee, keep in mind that we do NOT use flavors, or flavored oils in our roasting process. If you are one who likes your coffee "doctored up," you may not appreciate the fine taste of our freshly roasted coffee. The reason is because most coffee purchased in stores or at your local coffee shops is older, unless you drink the coffee black, you will be comparing ours to something with a lot of fluff in it! A true coffee conuser will enjoy coffee for the natural flavor it has without adding anything to it. NOW...this doesn't mean you can't add to it and make it great, I do! Just don't want disappointed customers who might be looking for a coffee we don't roast. If you have questions please email us.

We are excited to see a little more business with each passing week. Remember, for every bag we sell, a portion will go back to help others in need. Right now with the things we see happening in Haiti, we would like to raise as much as possible to send funds to aid in any way we can! This brings up our next offer...we are now creating gift certificates for anyone intersted in giving our coffee as a gift, but not interested in drinking it themselves. This will allow friends and family to enjoy any coffee or coffee blend they choose. Please be in touch with us if you are interested in purchasing a gift certificate for someone you love.

We are also very excited to announce our first open house for Yaya Coffee. This one was by invitation only, for a number of friends and family we know are "coffee conusers." If you are interested in being a part of a Yaya Coffee open house, please give us a call, or drop us an email. We need help from the consumer to make the best coffee available to them. We are not sure at this time when we plan to have another open house, but knowing who is interested will help us out a great deal.

The Beans Are In

240# of beans are sitting in burlap bags right here in our home. They are ready to roast, so give us a call or shoot us an email and we will get right on it. Look below for a list of the kinds of beans we got in. Notice we did not get any labeled as ORGANIC this time, that is because we were told the only reason coffee is labeled as organic is because someone gets enough money to pay for the label. The countries coffee comes from can not really afford to spray their beans, thus it really is organic, just doesn't carry the label because of the lack of funds to do so. Of course I can not promise an organic crop without the label, but if you do your homework, you will find the exact same thing we did. If you would prefer an organic coffee please make a special request and we will place an order.
